Young Shits x NBA
Art Director: Natalie Wolpert
NBA fans and crocheters are very different people. But these communities can be interwoven.
Because crocheters can solve basketball fans’ biggest problem:
Net-Less Hoops.
Every neighborhood has a hoop.
Not every neighborhood hoop has a net.
At the start of the off-season, the NBA kicks off a contest to design and crochet your own net design.
We partner with the popular crochet app LooseLoop to offer a free base net pattern to start with.
1. Make It!
Design and crochet your own net.
2. Hang It!
Hang up your net. Or mail your net to the NBA and we’ll hang it on a local court for you. We’ll tag and post you.
3. Post It!
The top 10 net posts with the most likes will win a spot on our Net Wall of Fame at Madison Square Garden.
We Advertise on the Streets…
… And on Crocheters’ Screens with paid socials.
Submissions end October 1st.
Winners are announced publicly October 20th–the start of the new season–and are invited to the unveiling of our Net Wall of Fame at Madison Square Garden.
At halftime during the first Knicks’ game, the top two winners with the most likes will have a half-court shootout with their nets.
It’s a win-win.
Basketball fans gain nets.
And crocheters net fans.
